A children book about gender identity, self acceptance, equality and diversity? Yes please!

Based on the author Scott Stuart’s son, “My Shadow Is Pink” is a rhyming story of love and self acceptance.

The book follows a young boy who wants to be like his dad, but finds himself liking things that are not “typically for boys”, hence his pink shadow.

With the love and acceptance of his father, he learns that everyone at times, has a shadow they wish was different … and he must embrace his shadow just the way it is. 

Breaking down gender stereotypes is necessary in nurseries and schools, and the more we read similar books to our children, the more acceptance everyone will have.
